Membership
Membership of Voc Pop Choir is open to all adults who share our enthusiasm for singing. We do not audition or assess members prior to joining, and no previous musical training is necessary.
Children over the age of 12 are welcome to attend with a participating parent/carer.
As a member of Voc Pop, you are entitled to access to the members only area of the website which provides rehearsal recordings to enable you to practise. These are strictly for your own personal use and should not be shared. Access to the members area will cease should you decide not to continue with your membership of the choir
Membership can not be transferred to another person.
Subscriptions and Payments
Your first session is free, regardless of when you start. There is no cash alternative to this.
Fees are payable in advance 12 week terms (11 payable weeks when commencing your membership). Weekly payment is not accepted. This should be made, wherever possible, via bank transfer.
Voc Pop Choir strives to keep fees low to enable all to participate. However, it may be necessary to increase fees from time to time. One month’s notice will be given in these instances.
As this is an amateur choir, no payment will be made to choir members for any performances or recordings made.
If a participant chooses to leave the choir part way through the term, no refund will be payable.
Attendance
Rehearsals missed by the participant must be paid for and no refunds will be given.
If the choir leader is unable to attend, suitable cover will be found. Where this is not possible, paid sessions will be transferred to the next Voc Pop term. If a choir member leaves the choir prior to the next term, there will be no cash alternative.
Events and Performances
Voc Pop Choir provides a weekly opportunity to sing uplifting songs as part of a supportive group. On occasions, there may be opportunities to perform at public events, charity fundraising events, concerts, etc. Participation at these public events is optional, and although we will encourage as many people to possible to take part, members will not be under any obligation to perform if they are unable or feel uncomfortable to do so.
Travel to events and performances is the responsibility of choir members, unless specific arrangements are made which you will be notified about.
Personal Data
Voc Pop Choir will only collect personal data where it is necessary to maintain contact with members and provide access to the Voc Pop Choir online resources. Voc Pop Choir will not share personal data with third parties.
Voc Pop Choir reserves the right to record performances and rehearsals for its own promotional purposes. Choir members will be offered the opportunity to give or decline consent to be included in such recordings by completing the Photo and Video Consent form.
Copyright and Intellectual Property
All musical arrangements and recordings created by the Musical Director, will remain the property of Voc Pop Choir.
Rehearsal and warm up resources available on the Voc Pop Choir website are for use by Voc Pop Choir members only.
Code of Conduct
Choir members will be expected to arrive on time to rehearsals and performances, and respect the ethos of Voc Pop Choir as a friendly, supportive environment
We expect our choir members to conduct themselves in a respectful and considerate manner towards other members of the choir, choir staff, and any members of the public present at events and concerts. Voc Pop Choir reserves the right to cancel membership of anyone who behaves in a manner that is disrespectful, unkind, aggressive, or abusive. This includes in person, or via any social media platform associated with Voc Pop Choir.
Other things you should know
The choir leader is First Aid trained and has an Enhanced DBS certificate.
Voc Pop Choir is not responsible for any damage to person or property while attending rehearsals unless caused by Voc Pop Choir’s negligence. Similarly, Voc Pop Choir is not responsible for damage or loss caused by other members.
